The seven deadly sins
This concert is a journey into the interwar period in America. Greed, lust and jealousy are keywords, and the music is filled simultaneously with political criticism and ironic twists.
The concert opens with Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with conductor Magnus Loddgård as the piano soloist. Then we will hear Tora Augestad in Alban Berg’s Lulu Suite based on the opera of the same name.
After the interval we will hear The Seven Deadly Sins by Kurt Weill, with Tora Augestad and an ensemble of soloists together with the Sinfonietta. Here we meet Anna who travels around the USA, trying to make a better life for her family, while continually being tempted by the seven deadly sins.
